Straight up, into the sun

Each raindrop a sip

Of promised delicacies

Stirring an unquenchable thirst

Bud to bloom

Drenched in light,

Admired,

Radiant

The illusion of eternity

Yawns

Dawn breaks

Faded crimson slips to the earth

As eyes turn elsewhere

Worn to weathered

No more than a whisper

Stooped,

Leaning into the wind
