Rant Room
Vent. Rail. Rant. Purge whatever makes you want to throw yourself to the
ground like a two year old in a toy store. Better here than in someone's ear.

It's in the genes - men can veg and have no problem doing it because that's where their focus is at that moment - woman veg and ping - I see dust on the floor, ping I see the coffee cup that wasn't put away, ping the dryer just went off, ping, ping, ping - it's the way we're made!!

I think you are on to something Jo. We are masters of multi-tasking - yay us when that's needed - but we are well advised to now learn the art of deep rest, of unhooking our attention from everything and slipping into wordlessness where words like guilt, can't reach us.
Here's a thought, since the men are so focused on vegging out, it is unlikely they'd notice the dust or mug or dryer, and if they aren't noticing these things they probably aren't noticing we didn't get to them.
WhenIf they notice, they can take care of them and we can carry on with resting.3

If only I could ignore the piece of dust or dirty dishes sitting on the counter!

I like to clean, it is how I relax!!! I can't imagine in my wildest dreams hanging out on the couch all day with a dazed expression watching sports on TV!!! I make no apologies for the fact that I like to relax by listening to music and cleaning, cleaning gives me a sense on control and immediate results! "It's a good thing".

You have a point. I do feel much more relaxed when my house is clean and everything is in order. Now my next beef is my husbands snoring......good grief that man is loud at night! I was up at four this morning (it is now five). Oh well, will get lots done this morning. Why do men think they can get mad at you when you tell them to stop snoring, roll over etc. Just so we can get some sleep?????

I don't know if this really works but my Gran-Nanna used to sew a few big buttons on the back of my Poppa's pj shirt!! A little cruel yes but it stopped him from sleeping on his back and snoring!!! Hey "a girls got to do what a girls got to do"!! Oh, by the way 4:25 am is too early my friend!!! Try the button thing!!!
