Rant Room
Vent. Rail. Rant. Purge whatever makes you want to throw yourself to the
ground like a two year old in a toy store. Better here than in someone's ear.
I am really sick of feeding people who are perfectly capable of feeding themselves!!!!!!!
Am I the only person on the planet that feels like this? I am so tired of cooking!!!! I used to love cooking and creating beautiful meals but OMG I am so sick of it! Everyday the troops role in and before they even say hello, how are you? they ask "what is for dinner"? Some days I feel like whipping them all with the tea towel and screaming I DON'T KNOW, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE ME!!!!!!! Of course this is a ridiculous request because everyone in my family (except me) is some how forbidden to cross the doors of a grocery store! Yes that's right folks if anyone in my family (except me) stepped across the threshold of a super market I swear they would curl up and melt! That is why the task falls squarely on my shoulders. Occasionally we order food and then everyone complains either about the cost, they feel sick or wouldn't it have been better if I made it! News flash it would not have been better FOR ME if I made it! Tonight just for fun I am going to conjure up something really beastly just to see if they notice and with a little luck it will be so bad I will get fired!!!! Is that possible has anyone ever fired their Mom? It would be pretty funny actually: Reason for dismissal: shitty food and a bad attitude!!! Ha, Ha!

I don't know about being fired - did it happen? - but I know an awful lot of women (myself included, actually at the front of the line) who have declared a strike or quit and they all received nothing more than a raised eyebrow or two mostly because their families knew that underneath it all, they didn't mean it. Don't get me wrong, the frustration is real and their families didn't doubt they were tripping but they all had one thing in common - when they calmed down - they dutifully returned to their posts just as their families knew they would.
So here's the thing - tell your beasties you'll only keep filling their bellies if they remember to tell you how much they appreciate you first!!!
