Friends Don't Leave Friends Hanging!
This is the third time this month that my friend has called to cancel. We both agree that we need some non-mom time without our kids. We've planned to meet for lunch twice and dinner another time and she bailed at the last minute all three times! if you happen to be reading this, you know who you are and you know I'm choked because you know how much trouble it is for me to arrange everything to clear time to get together. I know it's tough for you too but if you know you can't make it, don't say you will. I'm okay with that. I'm not okay with you promising and then leaving me hanging!!!!! Seriously, friends don't do that!

I laughed when I read your post. Not at you, at myself as a person who has been left hanging a lot!!! I discovered the best solution for the disappointment I felt by last minute cancellations was to do what I was planning any ways! It takes a little bit of courage but I have been to a lot of movies I wanted to see, a few restaurants I wanted to eat at and even the occasional concert "SOLO"!! The funny thing is that I really enjoyed all these solo events and met a lot of nice people at them! You may even find that you enjoy your own company and in the end don't have to feel that every thing you want to do is reliant on some one else!! I know that your point was that you wanted to spend time with your friend but that doesn't always work out, so go ahead and have fun any ways!
