I disagree. I read the novels long before the movie came out and although I enjoyed the books, the movie was a disaster. The plot followed the premise of the novel but was incredily disjointed. I knew the story and still found myself lost. Not to mention, any humor that came through in Meyer's writing was eliminated from the script. The only amusing parts were when Pattison attempted to act and failed miserably.  I won't go into the casting and special effects. Overall the film cameover as a 'b' lister movie. It was like the producers counted on everyone having read the book therefore leaning on it's popularity instead of making what could have been a great film.
