The Olympics are just around the corner and I was wondering how everbody feels about that? Are you excited? Annoyed? Is this a good thing ? A bad thing? What is the vibe amongst Mom's? Are you going to any events? What has the schools told your kids? Are your kids excited?
I am always reading about depression and how hard it is to be a new Mom but that was never an issue for me. Maybe you could blame it on my naivete but I never thought being a new Mom was hard, I guess really I never even thought about it because I was just too busy! For me the hardest stage so far is now. I am the Mom of a fourteen year old daughter who looks like she is seventeen.
I'm taking a chance and going public with this. I wasn't in sync with most other women when my children hit the much publicized 'terrible twos' stage and now I'm out of sync again. It all feels vaguely familiar.
thank god I don't travel for work and have to be patted down or checked out by some airport employee who can now look right through my clothes with the full body scanners being installed. this is where fear takes us. less privacy. less human dignity. more fear.
