Winter has got to be my favourite time of year for fashion. With a great 'to the knee' winter coat and a pair of 'over the knee' winter boots, I can cover my whole silhouette and look put together. Two smart fashion purchases and I can go from my home office (schleppy wear included) to the grocery store or kids' schools and no one's the wiser. Buy the coat a little roomy in the hips and it will take me right through my worst holiday chocolate-and-baking-binge right until spring when I know I'll have to lose the coat and hit the gym, which is the perfect time to purchase a 'to the knee' knit sweater......

Hint: Don't scrimp on details - if you're going to live in it, your winter coat should be fabulous!
