Winter has got to be my favourite time of year for fashion. With a great 'to the knee' winter coat and a pair of 'over the knee' winter boots, I can cover my whole silhouette and look put together. Two smart fashion purchases and I can go from my home office (schleppy wear included) to the grocery store or kids' schools and no one's the wiser.

I stopped working when I had my babies and I never wear nylons anymore but I have found a great use for them. I wrap them over my vacuum hose before I vacuum the playroom or anywhere there are a lot of little pieces of toys and in minutes I've picked up all the small things that would have been sucked up and lost forever.

if you have put too much dirt in a potted plant or you have hanging baskets that you are sick of the water over flowing just add a tray of ice cubes! They melt slowly and don't wash dirt all over the place. they are also perfect for cactus's because one cube is great for the week!

I'm five panels away from finishing painting my fence and when I got home today I was struck by my error in judgment. I now understand the appeal of a white picket fence - it doesn't show bird shit. My fence looks like it was hit by a flock of rebel graffitti artists!

I am not sure what this stuff is called but I bought it at home hardware and it is amazing! Double faced red tape! It is so strong it is unbelievable I might go so far as to say it is better than duct tape!!!! Gasp, it almost feels like a betrayal duct tape has been my loyal companion for so many years!!! I must say that this red tape really rocks, really does what it says and is cheap!!!!

The best hint I was ever given was to pretend you can't do anything!!!! That way people will stop asking you to do stuff!!!! The second anyone finds out you have the slightest talent for anything they will try to suck it out of you!!!! O.K. that may have been a little harsh!

To remove grease stains on clothing – try a little dish soap right on the spot before you put the clothing  in your washing machine.  The dish soap seems to cut through the grease in the fabric.
