Websites Worth Checking Out
In a few short years we've gone from being leery of the web to depending on it. Here is a beginning list of sites worth sharing with you. More to come. Add yours to the list.
1. Ted.com - "Ideas Worth Spreading" - this is a non-stop supply of talks by the thought leaders of today with something for everyone. You can lose hours on this site and not feel like you've wasted a moment. A great video worth viewing: Jane Chen: A warm embrace that saves lives - portable, inexpensive, 'sleeping-bag' incubators for preemies in developing countries. Amazing!
2. MIT Open Course Ware - Thinking of going back to school, curious about architecture, brain science, ecology, business, urban planning, media.... or just wondering what is it like to take a university course, without spending a dime? Then this site is worth visiting. MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) has embraced the free model and put a wide selection of it's courses online for anyone who is interested, complete with lecture notes, and reading materials. It's a great way to test-drive what appeals to you if you are just starting out or wanting to switch careers.
3. The Satorialist - an off the streets (of New York, Paris, Milan, London) look at fashion on real people. An interesting site to see how fashion is really about creative expression and less about the rules.
4. Mamapedia.com - a site for moms deep in the trenches with babies, toddlers and children looking for advice on anything from potty-training to starting school. Mom's can post questions and get bombarded by answers from lots of other moms, direct to your email box.

Just found the most AMAZING site! www.supercook.com
On the front page, you can type in whatever odd food items you have kicking around your kitchen and a list of recipes will pop up to match your ingredients PLUS a suggestion box asking if you might have other ingredients you didn't enter to give you even more great recipe options!!!! No more going to the store every night for a new meal idea. It totally takes the pain out of answering the question: What's for dinner?!!!!!!
