What is Mom's Work Worth?

My husband and i were arguing the other day. Went something like this.

Me: I have too much to do, you have to help.

Him: I don't have time. I work.

Me: I work too.

Him: I just meant I go to work so I'm not here, you are (seriously, he said that!)

Me: (nothing - I was looking for something to throw)

Him: What? you're a stay-at-home mom, you don't have to drive or stay late at the office. You have more time.

Me: (steam-rising-out-of-my-ears) my 'office' hours are all day - all night! I wish I was a 'stay-at-home' mom but I'm too busy driving! I don't hav more time!

Him: so we'll hire someone. It couldn't cost that much.

Me: oh really.

I told a friend and she told me about the Moms Work pay calculator that figures out how much I would be paid if moms got paid.

then i told him I'm quitting my day job - we can't afford me!

It's fun to see how much we'd earn.

Check it out here

There's even a one for Dads, and you can print yourself a paycheck!!!

My children's ages are no longer included in the calculation. Strangely I am still working just as hard and funny enough I can also fit in jobs that are away from home!!!! How does that work? Can I ask  for retro pay based on the last twenty odd years of nonstop work!!! Ha, Ha wouldn't that be great!!!!! I would be loaded!!!!!!
