Everyday I read the news paper and everyday it seems like someone else has been shot in Vancouver. Why is this happening? Why are we allowing this to happen? I grew up in the GVRD and I do not remember anyone from my childhood or teenage years being shot! Lots of guys I knew growing up got in fights and even some girls but no one ever tried to kill each other. I understand that it is mostly gang related but if no kids joined these gangs wouldn't they cease to exist? Why has it become appealing to join a gang? Do they actually recruit? What could be so appealing to teenagers that they are willing to die for? Even if they were offered a lot of money, who would accept it, if they said there is also a really good chance that you are going to be shot! I feel so sorry for the parents of all these young people caught up in this mess. I find reading the news paper just soul destroying! I just really wish it would all stop! There must be away to stop it.
