Last night I had the great honor of attending the Olympic Opening Ceremony!

The show itself was beyond beautiful but the thing I did not anticipate was the level of pride I felt as a Canadian! It was as though the feeling was contagious and each smiling face I passed  shared the same emotion, an actual bond that made complete strangers look each other confidently in the eye and smile!! When the ceremony was over and thousands of people flowed out on to the streets the feeling was met by even more happiness "a collective vibe of joy"!!! I will admit that if you had of asked me a few weeks ago was I excited about the Olympics I probably would have answered sarcastically but I was wrong! The truth is I believe that the Winter Olympics are a wonderful thing for Vancouver! How could anything that brings people together with such joy and hopefulness be any thing but truly positive!
