Full-body scanners at airports?! - How much is fear costing us?

thank god I don't travel for work and have to be patted down or checked out by some airport employee who can now look right through my clothes with the full body scanners being installed. this is where fear takes us. less privacy. less human dignity. more fear. since the scanner can't see inside the body all a crazy needs to do is insert the bombing devices up the wazoo and the only package that will be detected on the screen are his boy bits. what good is that? maybe the next stop on the fear train will be internal scans.

It has become so frustrating at the airports that I don't even want to travel! On my last journey my nail file was taken away! What was the point of that? What was I going to do file the captains nails too short !They also took a small bottle of sun screen  just in case I tried to zinc some body!! It is all just becoming so silly. Ironically I did notice after my nail file was taken away that I was given a plastic knife with my meal!!?!

I don't know what's scarier, the threats or our solutions to ease our fears of these threats

Are they using these scanners for all employees who work on and in the planes as well as the passengers? And what about medical aides like casts, can it see through those?

If I looked that good on the scanner I'd be handing out autographed pictures!

another misuse of government dollars. it boggles the mind how many decisions are made that aren't based in reality or that don't take in the whole picture. this is the highest profile 'fix' that supposedly says, we are doing something about the problem, when in reality it just creates more problems to pile on top of the other ones no one has even thought to address.

I have to travel a lot for business and I actually don't mind all the extra security rather that than ending up stuck on a plane with a lunatic!! All jokes aside the world is a very complicated place and if one extra hour of standing around at security checks could save my life I'll stand around!! Funny irony we don't seem to mind taking pretty much a whole day to have our yearly mammogram but walking through a scanner really gets our goat!! Bottom line all this stuff is for our own protection.
